Grandpa Franklin

I knew this day would eventually arrive but i didn’t know it would come so soon. Unfortunately, this morning my Grandpa passed away after a long battle with cancer. Not surprisingly, he held on as long as he could, a fighter until the very end. It is comforting to know that he won’t have to fight anymore, that he has found some level of peace.

I am forever grateful and feel so lucky to have spent 25 years with him.

A man of a lot of words and a big heart.  We will always remember how he didn’t know a stranger and talked to anyone and everyone that crossed his path, his clever sense of humor, his sharp memory, his newspaper clipping of when he got struck by lightning as a kid, his love for sports and crossword puzzles, his pet goose, his love for pineapple ice cream & his love for Notre Dame. We’ll especially remember how fondly he spoke of Grandma Cecilia, his unfailing devotion to his family, and his reliability.

“I thank my God in all my remembrances of you.” Philippians 1:3
