St. Augustine Wedding

We just took a trip to St. Augustine and the city completely stole our hearts. I’d love to share a few anecdotes and photos, if you’d like to see…

Unless you’re hitting up all the tourist attractions or spending all of your money at boutiques, there really isn’t a whole lot to do in St. Augustine other than eat and drink – something I’m 100% ok with.

Prohibition Kitchen- Apparently this is a fairly new restaurant but you wouldn’t know it based on the fact that it’s always full. But as soon as I walked in, I could see why. It’s got that whole prohibition-era vibe to it, great food and drinks.

Castillo De San Marcos- We made a visit to the fort meaning and went out on the top deck, it was a super interesting experience. Given that the fort’s construction was completed in 1695, there’s tons of history there that you can read about as you tour the structure.

We spent a day shopping and exploring downtown St. Augustine we popped into tons of stores and boutiques.

We also made a quick stop to visit the St. Augustine Lighthouse & Maritime Museum. We climbed 219 steps to the top of the lighthouse for a spectacular view of the city overlooking the Matanzas Bay and the Atlantic Ocean from Anastasia Island.

Celebrated Kari and Derek’s wedding day at Anastasia State Park!

The Conch House- Tons of people crowd the docks, sip some fruity drinks, sun bathe, and listen to a live reggae band play.

This place had great food and a great view!

So yea, those are just a few of the highlights from our trip. I gotta say, St. Augustine is an extremely charming city, and we’ll certainly be back!

How about you guys? Has anyone been there before? If you have, what are some of your favorite things to do?

Ten year reunion

This weekend we attended my 10 year high school reunion that I helped organize! High school could have been a very clique-driven time depending on the culture of your school.  I graduated with a class of 250 students in a small town. We all remember the cafeteria scene in Mean Girls. But we’re no longer in high school! Life has happened; it’s been 10 years. Life and experiences have a funny way of making us more understanding, sympathetic, and relatable.

So go to your 10 year high school reunion and enjoy yourself. Take nothing too serious, take pictures, and like us I am sure you will end up having a blast!

looking back at 2016

This year was a very special one. It was filled with travel and adventure, good friends and food, but most importantly, it was filled with lots of time spent together. We ventured to Greenville SC, Brown County Indiana, Put In Bay Ohio, Gulf Shores Alabama & Bloomington IL for the first time, my best friend got married in June and we spent a weekend in Vegas, Cincinnati & Chicago, I threw Jake a surprise 30th birthday party, found out my cousin was expecting twin girls & we celebrated our 4 year anniversary in June!

I cannot wait to see what the new year has in store, see you in 2017!!!
