How We Met

It was December 2011 and I was interviewing for my first job out of college. I showed up unprepared forgetting a pen and had to borrow one from Jake (great first impression). After the interview, I got in the car called my mom and explained to her that this cute guy just interviewed me. I got hired for the position and we spent the next couple of months getting to know each other.

How He Asked

Every Wednesday we take turns planning a date night and this Wednesday happened to be my turn to pick the activity. That morning I had texted Jake saying I wanted to stay in, watch a movie and make dinner but he was persistent that they get out of the house and go to Broadripple for dinner since the weather was beautiful.

Jake drove to Broadripple parking at our first condo together where we had lived for two years. We walked on the Monon trail through the Arts Park and before I knew it Jake was down on his knee. After the proposal we went to dinner where we had our very first date.
