Kalyn’s Bridal Shower

You guys, my best friend since first grade is getting married in just two months…I can’t believe it! It seems like just yesterday we were playing with her my size barbie and jumping on her trampoline and in June she will be tying the knot.

Steve and Kalyn have been together since our Junior year of high school and I am so excited for these two to finally get hitched. Over the weekend I threw her a friend’s bridal shower in Indy and it was a total success.

Food

Planning the menu was easy — since the bride gave up cookies for lent and those are her favorite I chose to resort to cupcakes for dessert and snack foods since the shower was at 2:00.  I picked out a handful of snack recipes including chicken salad, jalepeno dip, pretzel buns, cheese & crackers and of course a mimosa bar.

Games

As guests entered, I placed beads around each of their necks letting them know they were not allowed to say the words: wedding, steve or bride throughout the bridal shower. Whenever someone mentioned one of these three words their beads could be stolen and whoever had the most at the end of the party got to choose from several gifts.

Keepsake

Each of the guests brought the Bride a recipe card, shared their best date night idea and filled out their best marriage advice for the bride and groom.

Decor

I went with fairly minimal decorations — just a few handmade bride banners. I also bought serving platters and paper products to fit there wedding theme or purple and silver.

The most important part

The bride said she had a wonderful time! Happy almost wedding day Kalyn!
