The other night we had a craving for homemade boneless wings and unfried wedges one of our favorite go to dinners. I searched high and low through all of my cabinets and realized we were out of breadcrumbs. After researching online i realized there are plenty of substitutes out there and decided to give saltine crackers a shot.
I found several reviews saying that saltine crackers work perfect for any recipe as a substitute that calls for wings. All you need is a cutting board and a rolling pin and bam you have a great replacement for breadcrumbs. The result is a lighter, crisper crust, especially when breading chicken. I prefer this texture to that of breadcrumbs and will now use crushed crackers in any recipe that calls for breadcrumbs.
