Get Organized: Make a to do list!

I love To Do lists and make them almost every single day. I normally make one first thing in the morning at work compiling the tasks I need to get completed, I make a grocery list of items I need to buy after work and with the move coming up I  have been making lists of items we need to pack, take to goodwill and buy. I can definitely say that on the days when I am being most productive, I am following my to do list. There are many benefits to making lists, it’s a very simple strategy that works great for just about anyone that gives it a shot.

To Do ListsBenefits of To Do Lists

Creates order
A great way to organize your life and how to do the things you want to do. I normally put my items in order by when they need to be done high priority items first and things that can wait towards the bottom. A to do list not only creates order in your life but also gives you a strategy for getting things done in a timely fashion.

Making a list gives you a visual and better method to prioritize what needs to be done according to timelines and importance.

to do

My favorite part about creating a list is being able to cross off each item and being held accountable for getting this tasks completed. It’s a great feeling seeing all of your tasks being done.

Crossing off each item makes you feel like you have been super productive and it creates a sense of relief that you are staying organized and on track with your responsibilities.

Relieves Stress
It allows you to relax more when you see things are getting completed and your list is getting smaller and smaller throughout the day.

DIY: Champagne Flutes

In a couple weeks, I will be heading to Chicago for a bachelorette party. Dancing, wine and girl time. It doesn’t get any better!

Last week, I decided I wanted to contribute a little something special for all the girls attending. I decided personalized champagne flutes would be fitting.

All you need is champagne flutes I found $1.00 glasses from Dollar General, monogramed scrapbooking letters and ribbon of your choice.

They aren’t super special, but I think they’ll be a nice touch for the night of the champagne and lingerie party. They will look adorable in pictures, and I’m good with that!

Spring Rain Gear

Happy Hump Day! These last two months haven’t exactly been the warmest for central Indiana, but now that it’s almost May, things are finally starting to thaw and the sun is shining much more. The forecast is starting to warm up with higher temperatures, while we will  definitely still have our gloomy and rainy days ahead.

But you don’t have to be a wet mess. First, consider upgrading your umbrella. The let’s take a look at new rain coat options and rain boots that will leave you dry!

Monday Motivation: Eat Breakfast

My favorite meal of the day without a doubt is breakfast! We have heard it time and time again that breakfast is the most important meal of the day and we shouldn’t be skipping it, ever! My all time favorite breakfast is a piece of toast, two eggs and half an avocado. Not only is this delicious in the mornings but it all keeps me satisfied until lunch. Check out some of the reasons below you should be eating breakfast and my favorite overnight oat combinations.

1. For me the number one reason I like eating a healthy breakfast is because it gets me on track for making healthy food decisions for the rest of the day! When I eat healthy first thing in the morning I am way more likely to make healthier choices for lunch and dinner.

2. Boosts your energy. Having breakfast as soon as you wake-up gives you more energy and eventually, maybe we won’t rely on that cup of coffee. Pfft.. I eat breakfast and still have my coffee.

3. Boosts you metabolism.

4. Improves your mood. Surprisingly, our moods are directly linked to the foods we eat, and the exercise we do. By feeling energized, relaxed, and less-stressed your body will feel at ease therefore improving your mood (making it very consistent).

5. Weight-loss. The idea of eating breakfast is that it controls your appetite and keeps you full allowing you to eat smaller portions for lunch and dinner.

6. Enhances your overall health.

So, the best ideal breakfast would be eggs or oats, with fruits such as berries. CLICK HERE to see my favorite Overnight Oats recipes.

Currently Craving: Lettuce Wraps & Stuffed Mushrooms

Happy Sunday! How does another work week begin tomorrow already? If you know me you know that I think hot sauce might be the greatest condiment ever invented. Buffalo sauce is definitely the best thing to ever happen to chicken. So awhile back I made this meal below for Jake and I when i had a craving for PF Changs lettuce wraps . It’s one of my favorite recipes I’ve ever made so I am excited to share it with you this morning.

All you need is ground chicken, lots of red hot wing sauce and then wrap it in soft buttery lettuce leaves with quinoa, fresh tomatoes, avocado, and ranch dressing. You could go blue cheese but I am a ranch person all the way! They’re seriously amazing! The thing I love about stuffed mushrooms is they look fancy and complicated but they’re actually rather simple.

Check out a list of my favorite RECIPES HERE!

  • 24 ounces, White Button Mushrooms
  • ½ whole Medium Onion, Finely Diced
    8 ounces,
  • Cream Cheese ¾ cups
  • Parmesan Cheese,
  • Grated Salt And Pepper

Chop mushroom stems finely and set aside.
Add onions to skillet; cook for 2 minutes over medium low he at. Add in chopped mushroom stems, stir to cook for 2 minutes. Add salt and pepper to taste. Set mixture aside on a plate to cool.
In a bowl, combine cream cheese and Parmesan cheese. A
Smear mixture into the cavity of each mushroom, creating a sizable mound over the top.

Beauty: Tips and Tricks

We all have our established beauty routines that we abide by from day to day. I thought that I would share some of my favorite tips, tricks and secrets I have learned through other bloggers and the web, hoping that you may be able to benefit from them in your daily routines. Some of these you might already know or use, though some might inspire you to try something new.

Silky Soft skin: Just add a few drops of baby oil to your body wash to leave your skin feeling extra silky and smooth!

Makes eyes appear bigger: If you don’t already own a white pencil, invest in one now just for this simple trick! Instead of lining your bottom lid with dark eyeliner, use a white pencil to create the illusion of a bigger eye.

Make your eyeshadow pop: Another use for the white pencil is making your eyeshadow brighter The key to making your fun eyeshadows pop is a white base. Use a white eyeliner and cover your entire lid before applying the color of your choice.

Clumpy Mascara: Add a drop or two of Visine (or any brand of eye drops) into the tube, and then rub the wand around inside.

Healthy hair: Rather than using a towel, use an old t-shirt and pat dry — Don’t rub! Rubbing your hair will lead to breakage.

Flawless face: When applying foundation and blush, swirl your brush in a circular motion from the cheek to the hairline, this provides an air-brushed look.

Lasting lipsticks: Exfoliate your lips once a week and dab foundation on lips prior to applying the colour, lipstick holds better on smooth lips.

Lipstick coverage: Smile when you are putting on your lipstick, this is the best way to get complete coverage, corners included!

Long-lasting fragrance: If you want to smell fabulous all day long, spray a little bit of perfume on your hair brush, it’s a fact that hair holds fragrance longer than skin!

Healthy Hair: Apply a hair mask using coconut oil and an avocado leaving your hairy silky smooth and shiny.

Eye Pencil: If your eye pencils are soft, leave them in the fridge for an hour, the less creamy they are, the less wastage will occur.

Makeup Tools: Wash your make up brushes with baby shampoo, it is very gentle and won’t cause any damage, making them last longer!

Breadcrumb Substitute

The other night we had a craving for homemade boneless wings and unfried wedges one of our favorite go to dinners. I searched high and low through all of my cabinets and realized we were out of breadcrumbs. After researching online i realized there are plenty of substitutes out there and decided to give saltine crackers a shot.

I found several reviews saying that saltine crackers work perfect for any recipe as a substitute that calls for wings. All you need is a cutting board and a rolling pin and bam you have a great replacement for breadcrumbs. The result is a lighter, crisper crust, especially when breading chicken. I prefer this texture to that of breadcrumbs and will now use crushed crackers in any recipe that calls for breadcrumbs.
