Remember during Christmas break when I told you I won popcorn kernels and a spaghetti squash during our family’s white elephant give away? Well, I finally took my first jab at making spaghetti squash for dinner and I was pleasantly surprised with the end result. If you are a pasta lover like me you must try this healthy alternative!
I had to do a bit of research to figure out how to cook the squash properly but it ended up being incredibly simple. First, prick the spaghetti squash all over with a fork so that it doesn’t burst while cooking.
Then you have two options: Either place the whole squash in a shallow baking pan. Bake in preheated 375 F oven for 1 hour or for an easier alternative which I used just put the squash in the microwave on high for 12 minutes
Once cool enough to handle, cut spaghetti squash in half lengthwise with a knife. Start removing the seeds and strings from the center of the cooked spaghetti squash.
Use a fork to get along the edges to get the strands of squash (Looks just like spaghetti noodles)
Top with butter or spaghetti sauce and ENJOY!
