Printed Pants.

I’ve been obsessing over, bold print pants! They are such a fun way to spruce up your spring wardrobe. I have been a little intimidated by the print pants but I have seen tons of cute ways to wear them that are more subtle by pairing with a solid top.

Today will be Awesome!

Because I am about to run my second half marathon!!! Wooohooo!!! While I would never do a full, I’m so so thrilled for this year’s marathon to try to beat my time from last year! Last year I averaged 11 minute miles pretty much the whole way and came in a 2:32 — Not bad for not training at all. We will see how this Saturday’s race goes! 🙂

Panini Party.

Good sandwiches aren’t just for meat lovers. Ever since I bought my panini maker last year I have been beyond obsessed with making paninis for dinner every night.  It’s time to think beyond hot pastrami and grilled chicken. When it comes to sandwich fixings, you can put almost every type of topping imaginable that is available in your fridge. Everything to me is better in sandwich form including vegetables and different types of cheese. 

My favorite vegetable panini is loaded with good for you ingredients, it feels you up but doesn’t leave you feeling miserably full. I use the 100 calories sandwich thins, spinach, pepper jack cheese, turkey, peppers, avocado and mushrooms. The best part is avocado. It only takes minutes to make and it is delicious!

I always make different easy sides to go along with the panini too. The top picture is tomato mozzarella cheese and balsamic vinaigrette. The bottom picture side is avocado, cottage cheese, corn, black beans and tomato. 

Natural Wave.

1.  On freshly washed hair, towel dry your hair but DON’T brush it out.  If your hair has no natural curl, brushing it will only make it more straight.  Instead just shake it out or run your fingers through it.
2.  Apply curl mousse to the ends, scrunching it up as you apply.  

3.  Blow dry your hair with a diffuser attachment on the end.

5.  Using a 1/2 inch -1 inch curling iron, wrap your hair around the outside of the barrel instead of clamping it in.  This will create a looser wave.

Better Posture
With no chair back to slouch into or armrests to lean on, you’re almost forced to keep your back straight, which can encourage better posture. 

Stronger Core
Sitting up tall forces you to use your core muscles, which not only tones your midsection, but can also help prevent back pain. Remember to actively sit on the ball with a straight back — slouching forward on a ball will not give you a six pack!

A desk job often means sitting in the same position, hour after hour, but you should be aware that staying sedentary for so long could be lethal

Using an exercise ball as a chair may seem easy, but it’s pretty challenging on your muscles since they’re so used to relaxing into a chair.

Friday after work I headed up North to see my family for the weekend. Without question, strawberry shortcake is one of my favorites desserts! My mom surprised me with it when I got home!

Saturday night our family went to Gridiron Grill for dinner. My mom and I split the black and bleu burger with fries.

Grandma, Mom & I visited the Lavender Farm in Rome City Saturday morning. It’s Northeast Indiana’s  lavender farm with handmade soap, linen spray & bundles of lavender.

I drove back to Indianapolis Saturday night to get back in time to go out with some of my friends in Broadripple.

Summer Salads.

What was I doing this time last year on April 20th? Well, the weather definitely wasn’t pouring rain and 50 degrees. I was indulging in the Mac Genie food truck with Kalyn and Morgan. HERE is a link to last years post and the Food Trucks that they offer in Broadripple. It’s hard to believe that was a year ago! I can’t wait for the weather to warm up so we can do that again this summer. And yes, this is another post about food. 

Meredith and I went to the grocery store and she inspired me to get simple ingredients to make a delicious summer salad. We bought lettuce tons of fruits, fresh vegetables, avocados, corn, black beans & cheeses. Summer salads are one of my favorite dishes because of all of the fresh ingredients! Salads filled with bright flavors that require no cooking pretty much top my list.  Here are my top favorite easy summer salads:
