The Past Week.

This weekend went by far to quickly, I spent Friday and Saturday in West Lafayette with some of my favorite ladies from Purdue! We went to every bar possible & ate at all of our favorite places!

Sunday, we of course spent the day recovering and getting rested up from the eventful weekend. We took a long nap and watched My Sister’s Keeper.

I ended my weekend with an  Academy Awards party at Morgan’s apartment on Sunday. We had some great food while watching the stars,  homemade macaroni & cheese & pepperjack chicken!

Someone who Loves you this much.

Happy Valentine’s Day everyone! Saw this on pinterest and had to share it with you:

“So today I was in Hallmark buying my mom a Happy Birthday card when I noticed this old man stnding in front of the Valentines card section contemplating which one to get. I decide to go over and I ask him “Are you getting a Valentine’s Day for your wife?” in which he replies ‘No my wife died 3 years ago from breast cancer but I still buy her roses and a card and bring them to her grave to prove to her that she was the only one that will ever have my heart’ “

Grammys 2012

Last night the 54th Grammy Awards aired on TV. During the broadcast, the recording academy payed tribute to Whitney Houston, who died on the eve of this year’s Grammys.

Taylor Swift has made a number of best-dressed lists over the years and for good reason. Her Grammy look featured a nude-colored, embroidered silk Zuhair Murad gown with a mermaid train. Her long, blonde hair was swept back into a bun.

Adele won big on the fashion front as well, with a slimming black-sequin gown by Giorgio Armani with nipped waist and long sleeves.

Adam Levine 🙂

Carrie Underwood, a perennial red-carpet favorite, wore a long-sleeve white backless gown with embroidered sequins by Gomez-Garcia. She complemented it with chandelier earrings and a sleek updo.

Valentine’s Day ♥

It’s the day before February 14th, Valentine’s Day. Yesterday when I went to Wal Mart to do some much needed grocery shopping the store was filled with heart-shaped candy boxes, flowers and Valentine’s Day goodies. Even while I watched the Grammy’s last night I couldn’t escape the flower advertisements on TV and  my Starbucks cup that I got this morning on my way to work had V-Day decorations. As I starred at my Starbucks illustration this morning it had me thinking of all of the different types of love out there. Motherly love, true love, sweet love, first love, but  what about self-love?

Ever since we were little we have been chasing the Disney Fairy tale love but in reality the best thing you can do is to love yourself. Love is a powerful emotion and when you feel it for yourself, it shows on the outside. So even if you don’t have a Valentine tomorrow do something for yourself.Celebrate self-love and the incredible people in your life 🙂

What you’ve missed….

This week kicked off with one of my favorite days of the year Superbowl Sunday.  Since then, things have been extremely hectic in my world. So let’s back up to Sunday and I will catch you up from there.

On Sunday I had a couple of visitors, my brother & Dad came down for the weekend along with three of their friends. I can’t think of a better way to have spent my Superbowl Sunday downtown in all of the action. We enjoyed ordering food from the food trucks, posing next to the big roman numeral numbers, & the O.A.R concert!

It was also very entertaining people watching and witnessing the fans make fun of Tom Brady.

The weather wasn’t as nice as what we had hoped for so we spent the majority of our day inside Kilroy’s enjoying long island ice teas & there amazing breadsticks!

The reason I mentioned that my week was a little bit hectic had to do with car issues in the middle of the week. Wednesday night when I got off of work my car wouldn’t start so I had to get it towed.

They told me that something was wrong with the transmission. So instead of being carless I bought a new Hyundai Elantra on Thursday!!!!!:)

Enjoyed my Friday night out in Broadripple with a few new friends that Kalyn introduced me to from her work. I think we made it to almost every single bar down there in one night.

A Super Bowl guarantee: Indianapolis will be a great host

Tuesday night some friends came down to visit Superbowl Village in downtown Indianapolis. Indianapolis knows how to put on some great sporting events: the Indy 500, the Brickyard 400, the Big Ten Championship game in football, the NCAA Final Four in men’s and women’s basketball, but this is our first Super Bowl, and it’s so exciting!

As I walked around downtown through the Super Bowl XVLI festivities, taking pictures and looking at all of the other people in attendance, it finally struck me what an amazing experience and opportunity this is for Indiana!

  • A four-line zipline running down Capital Avenue
  • Fire and Ice Lounges
  • The huddle at circle center
  • Tons of concerts each night
  • Ice sculpture carving
  • Pose with giant roman numeral numbers of this year’s game on Monument Circle.
  • Enjoyed the food trucks
