Purdue Homecoming

I went back to Purdue this weekend to celebrate homecoming with some of my favorite girls! It was so good catching up and being reunited with them! 🙂

I spent my entire Thursday afternoon watching five episodes of the new television series Revenge. I think it is safe to say that I am now officially hooked & I am counting down the days until I can watch the new episode on Wednesday!

10 things that make me terribly happy:

  1. my adorable new apartment in Indianapolis… (especially our little dining room that is decorated so cute)
  2. our spaghetti & asparagus dinner that we got to enjoy last night with the boys followed by cheese cake and red wine for dessert
  3. The Hey Tell application on my phone (feels like I’m using a walky talky)
  4. Skinny Bitch workout DVD (I am still waiting to get the book in the mail)
  5. bright orange pumpkins
  6. knowing that Purdue homecoming is 2 days away
  7. the rain that has allowed me to sleep in till noon and not feel guilty about it
  8. finally having some sort of income starting on Tuesday at my new place of employement Nordstrom Rack 🙂
  9. the surprise package my mom sent me from Kohl’s (you are the best)
  10. enjoying a nice cup of tea while looking out at our lake view

VooDoo Weekend

The weekend was a lot of fun! I spent my weekend in West Lafayette again for some Voodoo festivities. On Friday night we were picked up in a limo to eat at Bluefin Bistro, the same place that we went for Kevin’s birthday. We ordered a bottle of Moscato and enjoyed some sushi before heading to the Sigma Nu formal.

On Saturday night Kevin made skittles vodka, we dressed up in crazy jungle outfits, and we danced the night away.

So….it’s really happening.

Tomorrow is almost here! Time to officially move to Indianapolis, have my first apartment, & be living with my best friend.

My parents and I spent the entire weekend packing up my room and getting stuff organized for the big move. Thanks for all of your help mom & dad 🙂

Thursday my cousin Danyelle, her boyfriend Taylor, and I decided to check out trivia night at Mad Anthony’s Brewhouse. There were about twelve different types of brewed beers, delicious food, and the trivia competition to top it all off.  Danyelle ordered an enormous piece of chocolate cake while Taylor and I taste tested all of the different types of beers.

Cake Batter Crispy Treats

Tomorrow is my last day at Applebees before the big move to Indianapolis. I made cake batter crispy treats to bring into work tomorrow for everyone to enjoy!

3 tablespoons butter

1 10-ounce bag of mini marshmallows

1/4 cup yellow cake mix

6 cups rice krispies cereal

1 1.75-ounce container of sprinkles

Melt butter in a large saucepan over low heat and add marshmallows. Stir until they begin to melt, adding in cake mix one spoonful at a time so its combined. Stir in cereal so it is completely coated with marshmallow mixture. Sprinkle in half of the sprinkles and mix. Press into a baking dish (any size will do) and top with remaining sprinkles. Let sit for about 30 minutes before cutting. I find spraying a knife with nonstick spray helps to cut them.
